Since 1956, the San Luis Obispo County CattleWomen (SLOCCW) have been a driving force in promoting the beef industry, supporting future agricultural leaders, and fostering a deep connection between ranching traditions and the community. As the largest CattleWomen unit in the nation, SLOCCW is dedicated to beef promotion, scholarships, environmental stewardship, and hosting engaging, family-friendly events that celebrate the heart of agriculture.
One of SLOCCW’s biggest contributions is its commitment to educating the next generation about the importance of ranching and beef production. Through their scholarship programs, they provide financial support to local students pursuing careers in agriculture, ensuring that the industry continues to thrive for years to come.
Beyond education, SLOCCW plays an active role in community outreach and beef advocacy, participating in local fairs, school programs, and public events that highlight the significance of sustainable ranching and responsible land stewardship.
SLOCCW is known for organizing dynamic events that bring together ranchers, families, and agriculture enthusiasts. Here’s a glimpse at some of their recent activities:
📌 Pioneer Day Roping (October 2024) – A celebration of tradition and skill, this annual event showcases the best of local roping talent while raising funds for scholarships and beef promotion efforts.
📌 November Meeting & Fashion Show at Madonna Inn – An evening of fun, fashion, and fundraising, where members gathered to support their mission while showcasing Western-inspired styles in an iconic Central Coast venue.
📌 December Convention in Reno, NV – SLOCCW made a big impact at the California Cattlemen and CattleWomen Convention, earning top honors for their outstanding beef promotion efforts and award-winning scrapbook. Their work was recognized among statewide peers, further cementing their reputation as a leader in agricultural advocacy.
SLOCCW continues to make a difference in the community by empowering women in agriculture, advocating for the beef industry, and fostering a love for ranching heritage. Whether you’re a rancher, a supporter of agriculture, or simply interested in learning more about this incredible organization, there’s a place for you in SLOCCW!
